The day after the Warren Times Observer reported that the current judge of district 37-2-01, Art Zerbe, was retiring, the newspaper reported that "Carlson seeks return to bench". On January 6, 2011, the paper noted his bid for election. The article noted that Glenn Carlson is a life long resident of Sheffield.
Glenn Carlson faces two contenders for the position of district justice. Unlike Glenn, neither Hobson McKown nor Alan Kiser have been justices of the peace. Field reports suggest that while Glenn S. or an organization of support placed newspaper ads and professionally printed signs, Mr. McKown appeared to do little while Alan appeared to design signs of his own. Hobson and Mr. Kiser are underdogs in the race before this two-time magistrate. Straw polls have not placed Hobson Lyle McKown or Alan R. Kiser. No known entry or exit polling is in place. The Warren Times Observer has reported on the race between Glenn, Alan, and Hobson for judge.
It is not apparent that Glenn stands against any other publicly announced candidate for the May 2011 primary for this office. Glenn S. Carlson has yet to file a nomination petition with the Warren County Board of Elections. Glenn Carlson is at the top of the electoral food chain and appears to face no natural predators.
"Munksgard, Carlson win races easily" (Warren Times Observer, November 9, 2011)
